My Favorite Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe!

Would you rather bake your own dessert? This cookie recipe is for you! Growing up, my mom would always make the best chocolate chip cookies. She got this recipe from her mom, and it’s a family favorite. Grab the Kitchen-Aid Mixer and try making this with your family. Let us know what you think!

Lynn's Favorite Chocolate Chip cookies

Ingredients:

2/3 cup Shortening 2/3 cup Butter or margarine 1 cup White Sugar 1 cup Brown Sugar 2 eggs 2 tsp. vanilla 3 cups flour 1 tsp. Baking soda 1 tsp. salt Optional: 1 cups chopped nuts 1 large pkg. chocolate chips

Steps: - Cream butter, shortening and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla and mix well.

- Mix together dry ingredients (flour, baking soda, salt). Stir dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and mix well.

- Add chocolate chips (and nuts, optional) and mix well.

- Use a teaspoon to scoop round balls from the dough.

- Place the dough balls on a cookie sheet, about 1-2 inches apart.

- Bake 375 for 8-10 minutes.

Optional: Kick your cookie up a notch and add two Tablespoons of your favorite nut butter and/or a 1/2 cup of chopped nuts!

For a softer, chewier cookie, bake for less time. For a crispier cookie, bake for the full 10 minutes. The type of cookie sheet you use will also affect the cookie. Try a different cookie sheet each time and see which cookie sheet gives you the cookie you like best!
